PalletTrader.com, the first and largest online platform - marketplace - for wooden pallets in the supply chain in the U.S., and Pallet Control Tower (PCT) have ratified a partnership. The two companies have independently built digital e-commerce platforms from which carriers/haulage companies and pallet suppliers can source and manage their needs for a wide variety of shipping pallets, within their respective regions.
As part of this cooperation, the two platforms plan to offer a new service that will allow U.S. carriers to obtain and reuse European standard pallets, initially used to transport goods from Europe to the U.S. And vice versa to transport U.S. export goods back to Europe on so-called GMA pallets. In this way, European-based recipients using PCT will be able to prove that the GMA pallets they received under load are reused, while European shippers will be able to more easily purchase U.S. standard pallets that meet the requirements of many U.S. supply chains. The bottom line is that most transportation and distribution companies prefer to receive pallets that match their domestic supply chain, while European recipients must also ensure that they comply with PPWR. The collaboration makes just that possible.
